Lançado no final do período initial da terceira phase do Wire – após Send e antes da reinvenção da banda após a saída de Bruce Gilbert – Read & Burn 03 (2007) nunca recebeu a atenção que merecia. No entanto, a faixa de abertura, "23 Years Too Late", com sua narrativa de turnê ritmo motorik, permanece como uma the melhores conquistas da banda em qualquer era, tanto na visão dos fãs mais antigos quanto da própria banda (um raro ponto de concordância!).
